Transitioning from O-level A-math to JC H2 Math
Assume you have finished you O-level exam and now about to take JC H2 math. Compared to O-level additional mathematics, the JC math is definitely harder. There could be many reasons on why JC students can find H2 math is difficult. One of the reasons could be lacking of foundation knowledge.
According to SEAB website, H2 maths contain certains number of assumed knowledge from O-level Additional Mathematics.
ALGEBRA
- Equations and inequalities
- Indices and surds
- Polynomials and partial fractions
- Power, Exponential, Logarithmic, and Modulus functions
GEOMETRY AND TRIGONOMETRY
- Coordinate geometry in two dimensions
- Trigonometric functions, identities and equations
CALCULUS
- Differentiation and integration
Thus, if you find that your knowledge on any of the above topics is rusty, then you might have chance to have difficulty in any of the related H2 maths topics.
